Stimulating Progressiveness th(Rawr) Science & Technology
A Contextual Advocation
Is Sci -Tech a blessing or a curse?
In the first place, human beings have a desire to change that explains why social change is considerably a natural occurence. As change is a nominal law, and it is only just for society to experience transitionsn; even if many societies strive for stability and the illusion of permanence. Because social change is inevitable, it will be influenced by a variety of factors — including the introduction of new technology through science.
It was the technology aided by science that propelled humanity into pre-modern society: people created stone tools, discovered fires, invented words — thus promoted civilization wherein social change transpired. The Stone Age foundationally enabled humans to hunt and fish, while the invention of the plow ushered in the second social revolution by providing people with more stable food sources; through that phenomenon, agricultural society was born.
The advent of machines powered by inanimate energy resources ushered in industrial society. Mechanized production replaced traditional manual manufacturing and liberated the labor force, subverting the way society was organized and resulting in the collapse of traditional and feudal societies and the emergence of capitalism. The Stone Age technological inventions enabled humans to hunt and fish, and the invention of the plow ushered in the second social revolution by providing people with more stable food sources; at that time, agricultural society was born. Artificial fires allowed people to say goodbye to darkness and expand the capacity of time and space; historical record and dissemination of knowledge derived from the invitation to write; the invention of the compass aided the development of the maritime industry and the process of trade.
Modern technologies, including internet computer nuclear technology, and new energy technology, have greatly improved the level of global productivity and completely subverted the mode of human production and the way people interact with one another, and have strengthened the intelligent industry, hastening the process of social change and bringing globalization. In general, technological innovation has been a driving force in social change throughout history. People might have survived on hunting and gathering if these tools had not been invented. Technology has not only become an internal independent factor in the modern productivity system, but it has also become a decisive factor in the development of modern productive forces. The advancement of science and technology, via the transformation of productivity as an intermediary, and the profound impact on the socioeconomic structure, eventually resulted in changes in the entire society.
